2014

  • Gary Barlow - Played on the Tracy High football team and was the SJAA Lineman of the Year.  Played for the Univ of Wyoming and coached at SJ Delta College).
  • Brandon Dennington (a two-time state wrestling champion in 85 and 86.  Wrestled at the University of Oklahoma and won national titles as a member of the All-Army Wrestling Team).
  • John Gonzalez (a SJAA football player who received All-Northern CA and All American honors.  Played at Oregon State).
  • Tom Hawkins (He was a superintendent, principal and an eighth grade teacher and coach at Jefferson School for 31 years.  A trustee for the TUSD for 18 years.  He founded an annual girls basketball tourney and ran the THS snack bar during football games to raise money for Bulldog athletics).
  • Albert Moreno (graduated from THS in 1949.  He contributed to local sports as an umpire for 50 years, officiating for youth baseball and at age 82 continues to umpire for softball).
  • Don Nicholson (Coached football at Tracy High for 39 years, including nine 10-0 seasons with his sophomore team.  He was the THS Athletic Director for 17 years and his name is now assigned to the Kimball High Stadium.  He is an assistant with the wrestling team).
  • Michael Oliveira (A West High senior male athlete of the year in 1987 and earned the top VOL awards for his accomplishments in football and basketball).
  • Trevell Quinley (A CIF State Long Jump champion in 2001 during his senior year at West High.  Attended the University of Arizona on a track and field scholarship and placed first in the 2008 Olympic Trials with a jump of 27 feet and 5 inches).
  • Greg Reed (led the Tracy High basketball team to repeat tournament championships during his senior year in 1965.  Holds the single-game and single season school rebound record.  Leader of the Delta College and Sac State basketball teams before being drafted by the Warriors in 1969).
  • Loyce Singleton (a 3 sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball at Tracy High where he graduated in 1960.  He was a Junior College All-American at Monterey Penninsula College before attending the University of CA).
  • The 1982 Tracy High Football Team which went 12-1 and was ranked 6th in the State

  • The 1987 Tracy High Football Team - This team went 13-1 and beat Yuba City 17-16 in the Section Championship with Wayne Schneider as coach.
  • Larry Nicholson - Tracy High class of 1980, was a two-time Sac-Joaquin Section wrestling champion, 1978 and 1980, and CIF State medalist for 3 years in a row, including a 2nd place finish statewide in 1980.  He serves as one of the team doctors for TUSD.
  • Gini Ullery - A graduate of Tracy High in 2001, was part of the Bulldogs' Valley Oak League championship volleyball team in her senior year and became one of the top hitters in the history of University of Pittsburgh, where she was a four-year starter and member of Pittsburgh's 2003 Big East Championship team.  She is now the head volleyball coach at Fordham University in New York City.
  • Cameo Hicks - She was the all-time leading scorer in girls basketball when she graduated from West High in 2003, and she led the team to the Sac-Joaquin Section semi-finals three times.  She was a four-year starter at the University of Washington, where she was a two-time all-Pac 10 selection, and went on to play professional women's basketball in Europe.
  • Josh Wallwork - Earned Tracy High's 1991 Peter B. Kyne Award (top football award) and also earned San Joaquin Athletic Association Player of the Year honors in his senior year, when he passed for 2,164 yards.  Went on to be a legendary quarterback at the University of Wyoming leading the NCAA in 1996 with 4,090 passing yards and 4,209 total offensive yards, both of which are school records.
  • Tom Snyder - Tracy High class of 1975 who set basketball records for scoring and rebounding in his senior year and was the first one-sport athlete to win the school's Blanket Award.  He went on to become a standout player at St. Mary's College in Moraga.  His 17 year professional basketball career took him to leagues in Argentina, the Philippines, and France.
  • Greg Smith - Graduated from Tracy High in 1972 as a three-sport athlete and was the Central California Conference Most Valuable Back in his senior year.  He attended Stanford University and eventually returned to Tracy High to teach and coach.  He has coached freshman and sophomore football, and in 22 years as the head softball coach, he has led the Bulldogs to six league titles.
  • The Auchard Family - Dave Auchard has been a baseball umpire for 50+ years and has officiated basketball for 45 years.  His tenure as an official includes everything from Babe Ruth to California Interscholastic Federation championship games.  His sons Danny and Damon were all-league baseball players at Tracy High, and both played in college championships.
  • Bill Taveras - From the Tracy High Class of 1982, he competed in the luge at the 1992 Winter Olympics and coached the USA bobsled team for 12 years, including the 2002 women's team that won the gold medal.  He also coached the USA luge team at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
  • The Philpott Family - Includes John Philpott, who established a family tradition of auto racing.  His son David earned multiple track championships, including two at Stockton Speedway.  His nephew Doug Philpott raced Legends and Dwarf cars.  John Philpott's grandsons include Ryan, a track champion at Altamont Raceway in 2007, Justin, a champion at Stockton 99 Speedway in 2009 and 2014; and Matthew, a repeat ThorSport truck racing champion.
  • Sam Matthews - Publisher emeritus at the Tracy Press, is one of the founders of the Tracy Sports Hall of Fame, which was active in 1982 through 1990 and was resurrected in 2013.  He also was the sports editor of the Tracy Press for nine years between 1957 and 1966.

2019 INDUCTEES:

1. Gary Bairos (Tracy High Class of 1981).  Won SJAA title 4 times.  Won 2 subsection title, a Section title and was a CIF runner-up before heading to Arizona Statue where he became the 1976 Pac 10 champion and NCAA All-American.  


2. Brittany Daniels (West High Class of 2005) A 4 time league champion in the long jump and triple jump and went on to become the CIF State Champion in the Triple jump in 2003, 04, and 05.  She still holds the Section record for the long jump and triple jump.  


3. Tim Brown (Tracy High Class of 1986).  A three sport athlete and was the MVP for the 1986 Lions All Sta Football Game his senior year  He went on to be a 3 year starter at Sac State and has been a team doctor for Tracy High for 16 years. 


4. The 2005 West High Girls Track and Field Team.  They won the VOL title and Section title and went on to become the CIF State Champions (the only high school team from Tracy to gain that distinction).  


5. Steve Thornton - He collected 525 wins as a varsity basketball coach at Tracy and West High, including 7 league titles and 14 playoff appearances in 15 years as West High's head basketball coach.  In 1998, his West High team won 31 games and 14-0 in the VOL.  


6. The Daniel Family produced four Tracy High Football standouts in the 1980s.   


7. The Ennis Family of athletes who attended Tracy High and had distinguished college careers.
